As you older members know I am currently on bedrest due to my pregnancy. I only have 5 more weeks to go (thank God).. but in my place my husband has been plotting. Soon you will see some drastic changes to the system. Some you may like and some you may not. Our focus in these changes is to allow players to have more creative freedom without the burden of stats.. while maintaining our mature rating.

We will also most likely be doing a canon restart... since a lot of the canons we had are currently inactive.

Be patient my friends.. it's coming. =)

Doesn't sound like it'll be my kind of thing, I preferred the burden of stats to be very honest Sad ...

Don't worry, players will still be rewarded for missions and role plays they do so technically you'll still be gaining some pretty nice goodies. It's just that rp battles, tournaments, etc will now be based solely on skill. We want this to be a fair game for everyone.

99% of RPG's out there tend to be geared towards kids and use stats. We like being different. Different will separate us from the other RPG's and will push us away from the term "Just another typical DBZ RPG"

Annnd by implementing a Rated-R based site we will be able to cross the lines that other typical RPG's never cross and allow extreme violence, gore, sexual content, freedom to do just about anything you want, etc. I want to be able to give a personality back to the name of Role Playing and make it fun again, not only for me but for everyone. That is why I believe change and separation from the 99% of stat based RPG's is essential and if the site flops then so be it. At least I can say I tried right?

Also I'm going to be constantly adding new things to the site in hopes to make it more fun. I'm always discovering new crap on the internet that makes me go "Oooh! I want that!" so the more stuff I add, the better the site becomes and the bigger it'll hopefully grow.

Yeah.... sorry but this really isn't sounding like my thing. I prefer stats over relying upon skills, for one I have autism, I like numbers and gaining. And the one thing that has always attracted me to dbz rps is that it's always been unique to it's everyday rp. We use stats for story development and to settle who wants to win. If you take away the stats and rely upon the best writer, that's only going to make it the best writer'll always win and'll always dominate to those slightly less better writers. In some ways that is good, but the stat system was to be more invented to be balanced, rely upon an admin to settle things a lot less (Face it judges are too responsible in the fights and it's not a good thing) and helps create background and character development. Basically stats here were already the fair game here, they're around for a reason.

You have to think why other dbz rps out there are centred around 99% stats and kids other then they don't want to be unique. Stats have always worked to stop that annoying person who thinks he's Brolly to walk about and has kept people active as they try hard to make their character stronger and has help decide the outcome of things.

While believe it or not, I raise my opinion with that r stuff you got going as well. Stuff like that other rps don't allow is because this is based on 'D-B-Z' (Honestly some people here forget that) does dbz ever show extreme gore or sex? No it's mindless violence but has its line. In order to keep the fact this is a D-B-Z site (I'm not saying wipe out r-rated stuff, but) and it shouldn't encourage such things. Sorry but I ain't the grim type and I'm not open to have my character vandalised in such a manner by those who might (Dare say) Rape me or if I wore human, gorge out my eyes, sorry but those sort of things drive me away, leave those to something like Mortal kombat.

Plus as one of my friends pointed out, stats create more of a game and strategy, which is fun, while if you place it into just another rpg, you're turning it into other rpg sites (Consider yourself apart of another 99% statistic). But if you do go through with these things, especially the removal of stats and make the site far too disgusting, I'm afraid I'll have to pack my things and move on and I'm afraid me friends (Who I've spent ages trying to get here due to exams) will take my lead.

My brother has autism as well but back in the day (10 years or so ago) when we all started roleplaying people hardly used stats... and he was fine with that. The stats thing hasn't worked for this site. I had some roleplayers on here that wanted story over numbers and some that wanted numbers over story.. but at the end of the day when we were going to have a tournament I have two different battle systems with two different options.

1. You can fight with the normal system with your stats.
2. You can drop stats and fight based off of writing skill.

One person decided to fight with stats.. and then he ended up dropping out of the tournament due to the fact that EVERY other person signed up to use their skill. This is a text based RPG there are other ones out there that rely heavily on stats. You could always go to one of those.. however, good luck catching up.

Most of our generation (the ones we want to RP with due to wanting a older community rather than 13 year old children running around) have lives. This leaves little time to grind out missions etc.

Like I said there's plenty of sites out there geared towards stats, but there's none geared towards exploring the creativity of ones mind. Writing should be relaxing and fun... not a rat race.

There's also a community out there that thirsts for chatroom based rping nowadays, however I don't think I'd go that route. Cheetachat is dead and there are no other programs to compare.

Anyone informed these days that there are millions of different kinds of autism, so we're all still quite unique? But anyways, the stats thing just needs developing and it's fair enough to have a choice and that. But your stat thing just needs developing and all, things don't start off perfect, soon as you've used it more and worked out the kinks it'll work out for everyone if you keep going, when I first came here I wasn't sure about the rules until I found out it was only development and then I thought they were working well in that case.

But I assume once stats become more of an influence and start taking affect people will become more open. I saw a vote after all on your site asking about to keep stats or abandon them already, it was quite an onslaught for abandoning them, so I assume the reason why is because your rules just need it's kinks.

Though the reason why I don't leave to another rpg is because they encourage canon characters over creative character creating. This is really the only site that encourages creativity, but its starting to go too off bounds from dbz which I find a problem, it being a dbz site attracting dbz fans.

But what I'm saying is that this should be an all age group being that it should be influnced by dbz, not stealing it's idea or using it to attract members. Besides it is more creative to work around something and with it, then taking the first thing that comes up inside yer head.

But rat racing is fun, it gets people to work hard on their creativity minds for treats. People will just slouch if there is nothing to gain. It worked for me, when I was on my first dbz site, we wrote creative stories and gained stats for how good it was. On it I wrote my first story 'ever' and when it was read by the raters, they were so dazzled by how imaginative the villian was, they gave me 100x the normal reward, that it actually got me pursuing a life of story writing. That's why I love stats, in order to get stronger I must impress through story writing and creative fighting in order to get rewards and then there is more point to it, so it gets me to not slouch around as much and get out there posting and writing so that I can gain.

Writing just for the way of it does not ethusia me as much when there is little point to it and leads to no develop. Gaining stats through my effort helps develop and get the idea of my character.

After all the people who'll want to go without stats are just people who can't beat those who are stronger and are wanting to be Brollys going about and think they're that good anyways. We remove that, we'lll end up getting them.

Anyways congrats on the pregancy, hope everything goes well with that

So you're scared to have those individuals whom try to over power themselves against other people? and you're scared that by allowing a R-Rated site that you'll get raped? Lol. We didn't just sit back and one day say "Hey! Let's eliminate stats and make the site more adult based and let whatever happens, happen" No. We have already thought of ways to eliminate those 'Holier than thou-I'm untouchable and better than everyone' types of people and making it so people wont act as 'Broly' as you say. It's called "Earning your moves"

It's kind of like stats but without the numbers. Think of movesets as stats, the more moves you know, the more powerful you are. Say for instance if someone like Chioutzu had five moves and Gohan had maybe two, who do you think would win? We will be monitoring the Godmodders or "Broly's" as you say.

As for the Raping comment; Unless you gave permission to allow someone to come and rape you then that falls under the category of Godmodding which is a big no, no in any RPG, including ours and the person or persons involved will be dealt with accordingly.

And also, you believe DB/Z has always been geared toward kids with the little tinkers of blood and the mild swear words, etc? Have you even SEEN the Japanese versions? That crap gets really gory and theres also nudity in it even from females. DB/Z was never originally geared JUST towards kids, you can blame Funimation for that. We're just being a little more creative by allowing people to get sexual with one another (Couples, yadda yadda). Technically this site has kind of always been like that, people just misunderstood the "Mature" rating so thus why I decided to just say "Rated R" since everyone knows what that means.

However, if you wish not to give the new site a try, if you feel its a bit much for you already then I'm sorry to hear that and goodluck to you in wherever you may go and if your friends follow then I wish them goodluck as well. I'm happy to listen to suggestions or ideas but I wont and never have catered to simply one or two people just to appease them. As the old saying goes; You can't make everyone happy and I'm a firm believer in that. You can have 100 people in an rpg and theres always going to be one or two that hate how things are no matter what you do.

UltimatePride has been around since 2000 and within that time It's risen from the ashes four times and you want to know why? Because it never changed, it always remained stat based and people eventually started bitching because others had higher stats or this one cheated with stats or that one hated how someo0ne is 100,000 in power level and they would never reach that high. Eventually each time UltimatePride imploded within itself because of the chaos that brewed. I've listened over the past couple of years to many, many people that say they're tired of the same old bullshit childish rpg's and how people (just as I said) bitch over stats. So allowing people to have a more freestyle role playing will make it easier not only on them but on staff as well.

i'm just going to add my two cents in here:

over all, I agree with goten. Stats are nice but i prefer free stlye RPG. I am more attracted to the mature content of the site and i love the unique and creativity of the members, each characer created has their own personality to follow that's subject to change. I will admit my shame. One day, i decided to join alex's DBZ RPG. it's stat based and word count and everything. I was going over the rules and it said i had to know the rules so well i had to be tested over them and passed before i'm even ALLOWED to make my own character. >.< Then i read on and i saw barley ANY unique custom characters, nearly everyone had a cannon character. And ONTOP OF THAT after reading i said FTS and left.

Now THIS SITE, it encourages people to make their own unique characters, with their own personality. Some freedom in choice, The stats are a nice feature but to be realistic. Once Goku reached King kai's place his power level sky rocketed to over the 20,000 PL... We barley have people now who are just skimming the 10,000 PL line. If you want to stick to the stats like we are we wil have ppl who are the strongest at 22,000 PL in maybe 2 years -_-...

The mature rating is just another thing that sets it apart. I like this site because it lets me cuss as much as my character wants. if i want to tell a villian "I'll see you in hell muther fucker", I get to say it without being persecuted and punished or censored.

If the better writer always wins, then the better writer shall win. It must be logical and make sense. for example, if i become a super sayian, and i fight another sayian who hasn't achived super sayian then it's more logicial the super sayian will win over the one who hasn't recived super sayian. And how do you even gain super sayian? You have to be a good writer and be creative in your RP to even become a sayian.

I have confidence the admins know what their doing since i know they've been doing this for a long time. They will monitor fights and make sure their are know "Brolys" out their being unstoppable.

Earning just moves now that is undesirable? Stats we gain through time and develop and it makes more sense and it develops strength and gives us more purposes to doing things then just earning moves.

But I'm just concerned the length you're going to encourage mature sites. Your acting like there's going to be blood and porn everywhere, it's unreasonable for a dbz site you're hosting, I recall there being violence everywhere you turned and yes I do know scenes from dragonball that porn I have seen them, but was that what dbz was all about? Porn and bloody gore, was I watching the same series ye were watching?

But for the record there's three of us so far, then there's two people who have gotten into forum roleplays and quite like roleplays that I was considering on inviting (but I think they need to get use to forum rps first to be honest) and then there's another two people who haven't been willing to give this a chance (They doubt it'll be good as legacy our first one), but I was going to convince them once me and my other friends asserted ourselves about the place. And if that questions you, how about friends from a site I invited, but haven't invited them personally, though they've all done forum rps, but they have an interest for stat rps. Sorry for bragging, but I wasn't happy with how you just spoke to me like that and I can prove my claims if you so desire?

But I guess that's working on it. This system you used was recent, it just needs working and to get some proper people. You can allow free style, but stats pin things and make it unique compared to other forum rps. You also just have to think of methods, back at legacy, we had newb systems and rewards, also adjusted starting stats and right now here, with your writing system makes it that the weaklings can still win as long as they write decently enough and you just have to stat that.

And to say to Baki, yes I hate people using Cannon characters, it goes against creativity and no one can use 'em right. It's also what I do like about this site, because like legacy (Which didn't allow cannon characters, got booted if ya did).

But the description of what your doing is leaving too much control and attention over to the judges. That's going to create arguing biais remarks, no matter how many people trust them, plus the judge will have to keep up interest and your going to need three people to active to sort out a fight and there maybe times when a judge is there unsure and will either be flipping a coin or who he likes best.

So far your argument is illogical to me.

I'll be using rather sexy pics to attract both sexes but Porn everywhere? thats basically saying straight up nudity. Your misunderstanding the "Rated-R" concept. You're speaking like it's basically going to be a hentai site. Had that been the case I would've just said "This site is Rated X". What I say is unless you decide to leave, which of course is your choice and again I say goodluck - Check the site out when it's finished and see if its your flavor and if it isnt then you can head on out to explore other rpg endeavors.

For now stats will be eliminated, however if I do sometime later on decide to bring stats back there will probably be two fighting styles on the site; Freestyle and stat based. That would give people options but it would be up to the players to decide how they wanted to fight if both styles ended up clashing together.

That AND no longer would admins or staff update the stats, it'd be up to players to keep their stats updated on their own profile which would be forum based only. They'd have the ability to edit their own "forum profiles" which would likely be posted as forum topics or whatever. Thats later to come though if I decide to ever implement them again

Your last argument has now only proved that your argument is illogical and you cannot come up with one that is. It's true that there is a probability that you just can't be bothered anymore, being that I have shown evidence not to stand down, but that is only because your other arguments were illogical.

Though if your truly going to eliminate one of the choices good luck, consider yourself apart of another statistic, I say it's close to 99% being that your another forum rp site that doesn't revolve around dbz as much. And by the way you have just spoken to me again, I might as well be leaving without giving your so-called new system another chance, so I wave yer own good luck and be just moving on.
